Know thy helper is a program within Thlalefang Learning Centre, a security company registered with PSIRA and is in the processes of being accredited as a training provider by SASSETA. This programme is also recognised by the SAPS as they will be working together with Thlalefang to try and prevent these petty crimes.

The concept was developed after the CEO of Thlalefang’s house helper not only stole hers, but her children’s and her husbands’ belongings too. The CEO decided from then on to do something about this pervasive type of crime that is prevalent in the domestic circle.

In South Africa, The Bill of Rights protects people from violation of their rights as citizens. At know thy helper, we strive to balance the following rights
1 . The right to privacy
2 . The right to safety and security
3 . The right to property

We are working from the premise that the right to property and the right to safety serve the greater good than the right to privacy (in the case of repeat offenders).
